Celab deploys new two-way radio system to Øresund Bridge

The Øresund Bridge Consortium has entered a framework agreement with Celab Communications Danmark A/S as supplier of a new radio solution for maintenance work.

The delivery includes a new radio solution that meets the coverage requirements for the Øresund Bridge as well as a five-year service agreement including spare parts and 24/7 support.

The new solution ensures that communications between maintenance, operations and the traffic centre can be managed in a simple and secure way during both daily work and incidents.

Henrik Andersson, responsible for the new system at the Øresund Bridge consortium says, “With the new radio solution we get the opportunity to work more efficiently and safely than before. The project has followed the agreed schedule and we are very pleased with the progress.”

The Øresund Bridge is about 16 km long and consists of an extended peninsula at Kastrup, a submerged tunnel under Drogden, an artificial island south of Saltholm (Peberholm), a bridge over Flinterenden and a terminal area at Lernacken, which consists of payment stations and terminal buildings for miscellaneous control functions. The Øresund Bridge Consortium owns and manages the infrastructure for both road and railway traffic.
