Celab Communications AB signs agreement with Region Sörmland regarding TETRA communications

Press Release Published 2019-04-24

The agreement includes replacing Sörmlandstrafiken’s current communication system with a TETRA based solution.

At the turn of the year the County Council of Sörmland (Region Sörmland) assumed responsibility as regional public transportation authority according to the new Swedish regulations. This includes operating all regional public transportations under the current name Sörmlandstrafiken.

The contract is the result of a public procurement that established Celab Communications AB as the most advantageous alternative. The contract includes equipment, applications and services to enable Rakel¹ communications in 250 buses and 5-10 traffic management consoles. The first stage of deployment is planned in connection with a traffic change towards the end of the summer.

Communications will mainly be carried out with the mobile Tetra Motorola MTM5400 that is used by Sörmlandstrafikens closest public transit neighbours Örebro, Västmanland, Uppsala and Stockholm. Traffic management will be handled with Celab Four:C Dispatch.
