Motorola Si500
Video Speaker Microphone with display
Noise cancelling RSM with integrated HD video camera and high resolution display.
By facing the display outward you can let your “counterpart” view themselves in real-time. The experience of being filmed can potentially minimise aggression of individuals in stressful situations like an arrest. In this way Motorola Si500 can increase safety for the user as well as civilians.
Body-worn cameras have become increasingly popular in recent years. Today it is a fairly common tool for collecting evidence thanks to the objective documentation of incidents.
The problem however, it adds to the number of devices. Something Motorola have solved by integrating the camera and a remote speaker microphone into the same device they have reduced the number of devices without sacrificing functionality.
The built-in camera offers a 210° wide angle lens providing optimal field-of-view. It is also equipped with a high-quality sensor that provides reliable images and video even in poor lighting.
The camera also provides Pre-buffering, a feature that records video continuously but without storing (up to 60 s). When the user pushes record the previous sixty seconds is stored while live-recording starts. The recording is initiated manually or “automatically” during emergency calls.
The devices also have Wi-Fi support for fast and simple transfers of recorded video or captured images.
The devices are equipped with five integrated microphones to provide the same audio quality as Motorola two-way radios. The microphones are also placed in such way that the VSM can be used from either side. Naturally they also offer the latest noise cancelling technologies to guarantee optimum voice quality, regardless of surroundings.
The devices are also waterproof to IP67 and meet or exceed all requirements of MIL-STD.
