Celab signs agreement with Rescue Services South regarding two-way radios for smoke divers.

To evaluate their options Rescue Services South carried out realistic tests in different environments. The tests were conducted in both noisy surroundings, below ground and over greater distances like during full suit operations.

Rescue Services South is a joint operation between the municipalities of Burlöv, Eslöv, Kävlinge, Lund and Malmö in the southwest of Sweden. With 500 employees and 14 fire stations it constitutes on of the largest rescue services in the nation. Their mission is to, within their geographical area prevent accidents as well as quickly and efficiently carry out rescue operations of various kind. An assignment that is coordinated from a joint centre of operations in Hyllie.

The evaluation was conducted by six people during several days with equal conditions for all offered equipment. The tests focused on three main categories, audibility & audio quality, usability and features. Our offered device, the Motorola DP3441 with associated audio accessory was a clear winner in all. Thanks to its excellent performance the radio was also appointed the economically most advantageous option.

The contract signed in the end of June includes nearly 200 units and delivery will begin during the fall.
