About Motorola MTM5500
Besides sharing specifications with the best-seller MTM5400 this flagship model can be controlled from two separate control heads. These can be placed up to forty metres from the radio i.e. up to eighty from each other. This can be useful on board ships, trains or other longer vehicles.
TSCH
The radio also has a telephone style control head available, reminiscent of a classic car phone. It can be used either as a “telephone” when communicating in duplex or as a microphone for simplex calls. But it is also designed to look like an ordinary control head with button, screen and knobs on the same places. This increases familiarity for experienced user and allows installation both horizontally and vertically.
